VLADOVOSTOK, September 20 (RIA Novosti)
The frigate USS Vandegrift (FFG-48) has arrived in the Russian Far Eastern port of Vladivostok, the Russian Pacific Fleet’s spokesman Capt. 1st Rank Roman Martov said on Thursday.
USS Vandegrift, an Oliver Hazard Perry class frigate of the U.S. Navy, will remain in Vladivostok, which is the main base of the Russian Pacific Fleet, until September 22.
The visit agenda includes meetings with Pacific Fleet and city top officials as well as sightseeing.
Martov said a Japanese naval task force will call at the Russian port on September 23 for joint anti-piracy drills.
