Of course the bid for this 26bio$ weapons contract - including, unbelievable, "warships" (to do what? fight Iran in the Persian Gulf? The american department of defense must be a place where Marijuana is legal) - must have been a model of transparency in which various bidder (of various nations) have competed to offer the lower price  I can imagine the comments of the defense industries of the other countries of the 'coalition of the willing' and namely the united kingdom  anyway it is interesting to notice that 26bio$ (bio=BILLION=9 zeros) will make the happiness of some defense contractors but will leave the american taxpayers in the cold - to the american taxpayers the Iraq war has costed some TRILLION (12 zeros) as many sources in internet calculates.

When I saw this article in RIA Novosti I had to do a double take. Iraq is doing what? Buying $26 billion of US military arms?

Translated the US run Iraq government is spending the $26 billion in earned oil revenue from the United States and putting it back into defense spending which I completely agree 100% will be used to attack Iran in the future to secure their oil reserves.

Why? Because the United States only has 10 years supply of oil left until 2020. At this time in 2020 things will be getting a little tight.

Unfortunately Iran is also in the same situation as everyone else in the Persian Gulf with depletion of their oil reserves at 7% a year.

Russia should also be very concerned with this increase in US military spending in Iraq as the Caspian Basin is not that much farther away. And I guarantee you that the United States power base has the Caspian Basin oil and gas reserves in its sights in addition to Iran.

Between 2020 and 2030 – the United States, China and Russia will be fighting to control this oil and natural gas resource. Europe is also in there to but the big players will be the United States, China and Russia.

In the American news the United States is planning more war games in the Yellow Sea this coming week and warnings are going out about China developing advanced weapons. So the US military posturing with China has begun in 2011.

By 2030 expect the oil age will be over and with luck so will the United States war machine. At least we can all hope.

Conveniently this Iraq $26 billion military purchase is not in the US online news that I have seen.

Please check your sources. Oil Age over? No, 'conventional' oil age might be over. The age of CHEAP oil is over anyway. But the oil age? As Putin said, for the next 100 years we'll still be using oil and gas. He's right you know?

Sadam Husein can not be bullied into buying military hardware from America and Nato, a good reason to Kill him so that direct oil /weapons barter trade can go on.
