Russian and Kyrgyz airlines canceled the flights to the southern Kyrgyz city of Osh hit by the continuing inter-ethnic clashes, airlines officials said on Saturday.

Russian S7 airlines and Kyrgyzstan Airlines' officials said the air-carriers had cancelled the flights from Moscow to Kyrgyz city of Osh. They did not specify whether the flights would be resumed soon.

The violence in the country has worsened in recent days, with deadly inter-ethnic riots on Thursday in the southern city of Osh and gunfire late on Friday in the center of the capital, Bishkek.

At least 63 people have been killed and 835 injured since clashes between Kyrgyz and Uzbek groups began.

Meanwhile, the sources in the Kyrgyz interim government said the death toll might have reached 200.

Osh was the stronghold of former President Kurmanbek Bakiyev, who was overthrown following massive riots in early April, and some reports blame his supporters for starting the latest unrest.

Kyrgyzstan has seen frequent clashes since Bakiyev, who is now in Belarus, was deposed, but this is the most serious violence so far.

The interim government has declared a state of emergency and deployed troops to the region.
