Over 7 million people have visited the Russian pavilion at Expo 2010 in Shanghai, a RIA Novosti correspondent reported on Wednesday.

Qun Jingxua, a 50-year-old land resources agency worker from the Chinese city of Jingzhou, who came to the Expo with her colleagues, was the seven millionth visitor.

Qun said she had chosen to visit the Russian pavilion because it was the biggest and the most beautiful.

“Russian pavilion deservedly has a very good reputation,” Qun said. “I saw the nanotechnology exposition, the floating nuclear power plant and the nuclear icebreaker. All these expositions prove that Russia is a country of science and technology.”

The 2010 World Expo is being held in Shanghai from May 1 to October 31, 2010. Over 200 states, corporations and international organizations are taking part and over 48 million people have visited the event since its opening.

Russia built an Expo pavilion this year for the first time in 30 years. The sun-shaped building comprises 12 white-and-gold towers symbolizing the 12 months of the year, and takes up an area of 6,000 square meters.
