“Still, we have to admit that the very notion of inadmissibility of fascist ideology has been losing its initial bite as many people now see antifascism as a thing of the past and something parties can use as a political tool,” she wrote.
She added that for ANPI antifascist values remain very much alive.
“Supporting fascist ideology is taboo, whether your party is right or left. Unfortunately there is a wealth of neo-fascist websites and Facebook pages full of swastikas and other fascist and Nazi symbols, which I believe should be banned.”
She also wondered why no one has yet brought movements like these to book.
“I know the mayor of Rubino and if she says that this movement [Fascismo e Libertà] insists on its legitimacy this means that she has come up against a brick wall she is unable to break,” she complained.
After Fascismo e Libertà posters first appeared in one of our provincial towns, ANPI held a protest march there.
“The fact that they appeared again is a very worrying signal. We will keep urging the regional authorities to come forward and put this situation under control. We will fight on,” Floriana Rizzetto wrote in conclusion.
The Fascism and Freedom Movement is an Italian fascist political party formed in July 1991 by Senator Giorgio Pisano.
