MOSCOW, January 28 (RIA Novosti) - Three citizens of Azerbaijan and one Iranian have been convicted of drug trafficking in Moscow, the Prosecutor General’s Office said on Monday.
The criminal group traded large consignments of hashish from Iran, masking it as potatoes.
The four dealers were arrested in February 2011 with over 19 kilograms (42 pounds) of hashish in 80 packages, shaped to imitate potatoes.
A search of their apartment turned up another 52 kilograms (115 pounds) of hashish in 226 packages.
The members of the drug ring were sentenced from 11 to 17 years in prison.
