MOSCOW, January 21 (RIA Novosti) - A 15-year-old teenager fatally shot five people - two adults and three children - in the US state of New Mexico, media reported.

A well-known local pastor and his four relatives were the victims of Saturday evening's shooting at a home outside the city of Albuquerque, the CNN reported on Monday citing his acquaintances.

The victims were shot multiple times, the broadcaster quoted Lt. Sid Covington of the Bernalillo County Sheriff's Department as saying. He described one of the weapons used as an assault rifle.

According to Bernalillo County sheriff's spokesman Aaron Williamson, the motive of the suspect is unclear yet, just as his connection to the victims, the BBC reported on Sunday.

The boy was charged with two counts of murder and three counts of child abuse resulting in death, Sheriff Dan Houston said as quoted by the CNN.

Earlier in January, President Barack Obama signed 23 new executive orders to reduce gun violence, and called on Congress to pass a sweeping new set of proposals including a ban on military-style assault weapons like the one used in the Newtown, Connecticut elementary school shooting in December.
