A 60-year-old man was detained in central Russia’s Kostroma region on Tuesday on suspicion of stabbing his 22-year-old wife to death as she lay in a hospital ward, investigators said.
“The two had argued over the husband’s suspicions that she had been involved with another man,” a spokesperson said. “After this, he took his hunting knife and in front of other patients in the ward stabbed her 18 times.”
“The woman died instantly of her injuries,” the spokesperson added.
Both the suspect and his victim were patients in the Sharya city hospital.
It was not immediately clear why the suspect had a knife with him in his ward.
