Four people, including two former policemen, a real estate agent and a woman whose occupation was not revealed, have been arrested in Russia’s Urals region of Orenburg on charges of poisoning eleven people in order to illegally seize their apartments, regional investigators said on Saturday.

According to the Investigative Committee, two bodies of an apparent mother and daughter were found in April in their apartment. Later police revealed that both women had been poisoned shortly after they had sold their apartment.

Investigators are currently probing into another nine cases, involving people who had allegedly been poisoned after selling their property.

“This stage of the investigation includes… the exhumation of eleven corpses, carrying out several complicated examinations, a number of which must be held in other regions of the country,” Angelika Linkova from the regional Investigative Committee said.
