MOSCOW, April 28 (RIA Novosti)
Russia's General Prosecutor's office has criticized the high number of drunks and drug addicts who manage to obtain driving licenses despite their addiction.
"During a check it was revealed that a large number of licenses were issued to people having medical conditions including drunks and drug addicts," the Prosecutor General's office said in a report highlighting current legislative defects.
The report will be delivered to the Federation Council, Russia's upper legislative chamber, by Prosecutor General Yury Chaika on May 30.
Judges had revoked more than 20,000 such drivers' licenses at the request of prosecutors, the report said
