A Novgorod Region court on Friday sentenced a 30-year-old woman to three and a half years prison for poisoning her little son to death by nursing him when drunk, a regional Prosecutor General's aide said.
Investigators say that on May 4 Marina Shnip drunk about a liter of porto and the concentration of ethanol in her blood reached 2-2.5 percent. Then Shnip twice nursed her two-week old baby.
The baby died from poisoning soon after. Analysis showed that the concentration of ethanol in the baby's blood was 0.4 percent.
The woman admitted guilt.
