Spanish scientists have discovered that Black Kites have learnt to furnish their nests with white plastic to protect them from predators, the Science magazine said.

The findings of a recent study show that Black Kites at the peak of the reproductive cycle use more plastic than younger or older birds of the same species.

The plastic covering means the nests lose their camouflage and become easily visible, thus giving a strong signal to predators that they have a powerful claim over the area.
