The Christie's New York auction offered the sale of Five Centuries: Decorative Arts Europe on November 23. Among the lots for sale were pieces of interior, including chairs sat upon by worldly famous people.
For example, Margaret Thatcher chose the chairs made by London maker and designer John Linnell to hold talks with Ronald Reagan. Now they are worth $100,000.
These chairs like many other lots in the auction were part of the interior in the house of Anna Thompson Dodge, the widow of Horace Elgin Dodge, the automobile magnate.
