An auction of items belonging to the founder of the biggest financial pyramid in history, Bernard Madoff, held in New York on Saturday has fetched over $2 million, the auction house said.
Madoff’s lots included various items – from vases, china and antiques to a family photo album made of crocodile skin and even shirts and trousers. The most expensive lot was a diamond engagement ring of Madoff's wife sold at $550,000.
And the most famous item from the Madoff house became his monogrammed black velveteen slippers which fetched $6,000.
