U.K.-based JKX Oil & Gas firm has started commercial gas deliveries from the Koshekhablskoye field in southern Russia, the company said on Tuesday.

U.K.-based JKX Oil & Gas firm has started commercial gas deliveries from the Koshekhablskoye field in southern Russia, the company said on Tuesday.

The company launched a processing plant and associated facilities at the field in the first quarter of 2012. The reserves of the deposit, located in the Adygea republic in Russia's south, are estimated at 3.2 billion cubic meters of natural gas.

"We are very pleased to have finally started gas deliveries from the Koshekhablskoye field. This event marks a significant milestone in the development program and, helped by the recent award of the Giorgievskoye licence, enables us to focus on the next phase of development of the field," JKX CEO Paul Davies said.

JKX Oil & Gas plc is an exploration and production company listed on the London Stock Exchange. The firm has licence interests in Ukraine, Russia, Hungary, Slovakia and Bulgaria.
