MegaFon, one of Russia's three largest mobile phone operators, saw its 2011 net profit fall 11.4 percent to 43.585 billion rubles ($1.5 billion) to US GAAP compared with 2010, the company said on Thursday.
Revenue grew 12.6 percent last year to 242.608 billion rubles. Operating Income Before Depreciation and Amortization (OIBDA) rose 3.1 percent to 100.8 billion rubles, while OIBDA margin fell to 41.6 percent from 45.4 percent in 2010.
The company's capital expenses in Russia climbed five percent to 68.7 billion rubles. MegaFon said its subscriber base rose 9.6 percent in 2011 to 62.8 million users.
MegaFon's minutes of use, or average monthly traffic per subscriber, increased 1.5 percent to 289 minutes. Average revenue per user slipped 0.3 percent to 311 rubles ($10.62) compared with 2010.
