Russian social networking site Odnoklassniki.ru is launching a system of targeted advertisements, a source at Mail.ru, the owner of Russia's second largest social network, said on Monday.
Odnoklassniki has a potential audience of 40 million people. Liveinternet.ru statistics service says about 20 million people visit Odnoklassniki daily.
Russia's top social network, Vkontakte.ru abandoned media advertising in favor of targeted advertising last year.
Billionaire Alisher Usmanov owns around 34 percent of Mail.ru and South Africa's Naspers has 28.7 percent.
