The terrorist attack at Domodedovo International Airport has affected the investment climate in Russia, Presidential Envoy to Russia's North Caucasus Federal District Alexander Khloponin said in Davos.

A powerful blast struck the busy international terminal of Russia's biggest airport on Monday evening, killing 35 people and injuring scores. A suicide bomber is believed to have detonated the bomb, which was equal to 7 kg of TNT.

"Any terrorist attack affects the investment climate not only, for example, in the territory of the North Caucasus, but in the whole of Russia," Khloponin said. "These issues of security are very serious and threats of terrorism exist not just in Russia," Khloponin said.

No group has yet taken responsibility for Monday's attack, which comes less than 10 months after two female suicide bombers from the volatile North Caucasus struck the Moscow subway system killing dozens.

Khloponin arrived at Davos, Switzerland, to participate in the annual World Economic Forum.
