Gazprom Neft, the oil arm of energy giant Gazprom, has paid 65 million rubles ($2.16 mln) in fines following a second antitrust probe launched against its Omsk subsidiary in Siberia over gasoline and diesel fuel price fixing in 2008-2009.

Gazprom Neft, the oil arm of energy giant Gazprom, has paid 65 million rubles ($2.16 mln) in fines following a second antitrust probe launched against its Omsk subsidiary in Siberia over gasoline and diesel fuel price fixing in 2008-2009, the Federal Anti-Monopoly Service said on Thursday.

According to the probe launched in 2009, Gazprom Neft Omsk set unjustifiably high retail prices for gasoline and diesel fuel in the fourth quarter of 2008 and in the first quarter of 2009 despite a reduction in wholesale prices.

In May 2010, Gazprom Neft Omsk also paid over 60 million rubles in fines under the first anti-monopoly case, which it lost in the courts.
