Now Prime Minister Narendra Modi has the highest number of followers on Twitter in India. In fact, after the US President Barack Obama, Modi is the most followed politician on Twitter in the world.

Prime Minister Modi has been using social media platforms to reach to the masses ever since he came to power. Many of his ambitious projects, such as Make In India, Swach Bharat (Clean India) etc., have gained popularity because Modi used Twitter to promote them.

In fact, Modi has encouraged all his cabinet colleagues to use Twitter to reach out to citizens. Now almost all ministers in the Modi government are using Twitter to highlight their works. Most prominently, Foreign Minister Sushma Swaraj has used Twitter to help Indian in distress.
