The hashtag #freeAndrew has been laser projected on the Rossiya Segodnya building, in English and Russian, in support of Andrei Stenin, a staff photographer detained in Ukraine.
MOSCOW, August 14 (RIA Novosti) — The hashtag #freeAndrew has been laser projected on the Rossiya Segodnya building, in English and Russian, in support of Andrei Stenin, a staff photographer detained in Ukraine.
The agency has demanded the journalist’s release and says the hashtags will stay up until he is freed.
Stenin went missing on August 5 while on assignment in eastern Ukraine.
Sources reported that he might have been detained by Ukrainian security services, but Kiev has not confirmed this. On Monday, the Ukrainian Ministry of the Interior opened a file on Stenin’s disappearance.
Please support Andrei Stenin’s release by sharing the hashtag #freeAndrew in social networks. Andrei is a professional war photographer reporting from the most dangerous war zones in the world. You can view Andrei’s pictures from Iraq, Egypt, Syria, Libya here and his most recent shots from eastern Ukraine here.
